Diagnostic first lesson
We assess exactly where you are relative to your target level — vocabulary gaps, grammar weaknesses, reading speed, and listening comprehension. This becomes the architecture of your preparation plan.
Language-first, exam-second
The JLPT tests real Japanese ability. We build the foundation — fluency, vocabulary, grammar — and layer in exam strategy (time management, question types, educated guessing) as the exam approaches.
Section-by-section strategy
Language Knowledge (vocabulary + grammar), Reading, and Listening each have their own demands and techniques. We prepare you for all three — with extra time on the section that will matter most for your score.
Exam simulation & debrief

Realistic timelines
How long does it actually take?
These are honest estimates. Individual progress varies, and the right answer depends on your starting point and study time outside of lessons.
6–12 months. Where most Tabiji students begin their exam journey. A strong intermediate foundation, and the turning point to real professional use.
6–12 months with solid N3. The most sought-after career milestone. N2 is recognised across most Japanese workplaces and graduate programmes.
12–24 months. The highest standard. N1 demonstrates near-native mastery and opens doors to top-tier roles in Japan and international organisations.

- If you have a solid N3 foundation, preparing for the N2 takes six to twelve months. This is an honest estimate, and your progress will depend on your starting point and independent study time.
